KingsRoad

                                                                KingsRoad

Save a world shrouded in darkness by defeating the foul villains and creatures who plague this once-peaceful land in this action-RPG available on Facebook and RumbleGames.com.

Classes

There are three classes in KingsRoad: the Knight, the Archer, and the Wizard. Each player can have one of each class on their account, and each class specializes in different offensive and defensive abilities.
Some items and features are shared between characters, while others are not.
Items Shared:
  • Inventory - items inside the inventory, as well as any size expansions purchased
  • Vault - items inside the vault, as well as any size expansions purchased
  • Map Mastery progress
  • Gems
  • Gold
  • Forge and Cooking upgrades
  • Forge timers and states - you can only craft one item at a time in the forge, meaning you cannot use multiple characters to forge multiple items simultaneously
  • Purchased Vanity Skins
  • Quest progress
Items Not Shared:

Skills

Each character class has its own unique set of skills to pick from. There are two types of skills: active skills and passive skills. Each class has 7 active skills and 6 passive skills to choose from.
Active skills are used by pressing their associated Hotkey, and vary from one to the next. Some active skills will hit a single target, while others hit a group of targets. Sometimes an additional effect will be applied, such as a stun, in addition to dealing damage. Some active skills will provide an additional buff to your character, or provide a useful diversion.

Knight Active Skills Archer Active Skills Wizard Active Skills
With the 10/1/13 Mega Update, All Passive skills can be attained at any class; However, they cannot be shared in a party. Knowledge and Treasure Hunter has been removed

Quests

As you progress through the game, you will receive quests to guide you. Some quests may require you to complete a certain map, while others may require you to perform a specific task. In addition to the listed rewards for each quest, completion of certain quests will also unlock new NPCs for you to interact with in town, new maps, or new difficulties.

Combat

Combat in KingsRoad is pretty straightforward, and typical of what you would expect in the ARPG genre. Using your mouse, you control your character and guide them through maps, while using hotkeys to activate skills to better eradicate evil.
Each character has base Health and Mana stats, which can be strengthened further with item attributes, potions, and skills.
Killing enemies will yield experience (XP) for your character. Each map has its own unique set of enemies, and enemies vary in XP value. As you meet the experience requirements for each level, your character(s) will level up.
Don't get caught off-guard; some enemies are extremely powerful, and can really deal a lot of damage. Should you happen to die in combat, however, you will have the option to resurrect yourself.
Each player has their own unique play style and preferences, but if you're looking for some tips on where to use your skill points, check out some player builds.

Maps

By speaking to Father Byron in town, you'll be able to travel to various areas of the world. Maps vary in enemy type, atmosphere, length, and each has its own boss. Some maps have an Uber boss at the end. Uber bosses drop better loot (and more of it!) than regular bosses, regardless of which difficulty you choose.
By replaying maps, you can earn points toward Map Mastery, which allows you to earn free gems.

Introduction

KingsRoad is a browser-based ARPG created by Rumble Entertainment. The game spent a bit of time in closed beta in 2012 and the beginning of 2013, but transitioned to open beta on March 5, 2013.
Controls are handled via your mouse (or trackpad) and keyboard. There are also a number of Hotkeys available. Using these, you can control your character(s), engage in combat, and manage other aspects like your Inventory.

Bottom Interface

The majority of the game's interface is displayed at the bottom of the window. Much of the information you'll want to see is there.
Towards the left, you'll see a red bar, and towards the right, a blue bar:
These bars represent your health and mana, respectively. When you hover your cursor over these bars, you will be shown their numerical values, as well.
Between your health and mana bars, you'll find a couple of things. First, your current level and progress towards your next level.

Again, simply hover your mouse cursor over the experience bar to be shown your current numerical status.
Beneath your experience bar, you'll find your Skills, also represented by the hotkeys 1-5 on your keyboard. You can have a maximum of 5 active skills set to these hotkeys.
To the left and right of your health and mana bars, you'll see a few boxes labeled Q, W, E, and R. Use these to hotkey consumables of your choice, be they food or Potions.
The last button on the bottom portion of the interface will take you to your Inventory.

Tip

When you see a green arrow on the Items button, it means you have a more powerful piece of gear you can equip in your inventory.

Top Left Interface

At the very top of this section, you'll find a few social features.
The Find Party button will search for other players for you to join a co-op party with.
The buttons to the right of the Find Party button, in order, represent your Friends List, Chat, Inbox, and Guild features.
Beneath that, you'll see information for you and your party members, as well as any Passive Skills you may have.

Tip

You can change your Rumble ID by clicking your own avatar, and then clicking the Edit Info box.
You can also select which avatar you would like to display in-game. (Note: If you play through Facebook, your Facebook profile picture currently overrides this.)

Top Right Interface

The last section of the interface is on the right of your screen. Here, at the top, you will find your current Gem and Gold totals, as well as a toggle button for Fullscreen Mode and a button for game options (graphics quality, music, and sound).
Below this is your Queen's Blessing, once you've unlocked it. When the Queen's Blessing is on cooldown, a timer will display to show you how much time you have left until it is ready again.
Below the Queen's Blessing, if you have any quests, this is where you will find their information. Quest icons disappear when you are on a map, in order to help save some space while you are in combat. Should you wish to check on your current quest goals, simply click the icon while you are in town, and you'll be shown their information, and progress you have made.
